Why Fluid And Electrolytes Are Good For Athletes
Body functioning is compromised by the loss of too much water. Water, which is the main need for the body’s life-supporting functions, is the number one nutrient. The body loses water through sweat, and exhaling leads to loss of water via vapor. Both routes have a purpose during physical exercise and dehydration then becomes a problem. The first symptom is dehydration when the body loses 1-2 percent of body weight. This lessens a person’s capacity to do muscular activity. A 7% loss can likely result in a collapse. Continue reading
